According to Kelly Blue Book these are the 10 best SUV for under $25,000 that you can buy.
However the 2014 KIA Sportage / Hyundai Tuscon is suspiciously missing from the list. While the all new 2014 Jeep Cherokee which has yet to prove itself makes the list. As well the FORD Escape which has had seven recalls already makes the top 5. (take a look at my previous blog on the Escape recalls)
I am not in complete agreement with this list but here it is:
10. 2014 JEEP Wrangler
"There's something to be said for an SUV that can take you to the ends of
the earth and back for less than $25,000. Little known fact: the 2014
Jeep Wrangler also boasts some of the highest resale values in the
industry."
9. 2014 KIA Sorento
"Available in 5- or 7-passenger configuration, the Kia Sorento blends the
flexibility of a midsize SUV with the affordability of a compact. And
with available high-end amenities like a panoramic sunroof and UVO
infotainment powered by Google, the Sorento breaks the mold without
breaking the bank."
8. 2014 TOYOTA RAV4
"Heralded as the crossover SUV that started it all, the RAV4 has offered
sensible car buyers a well-rounded balance of fuel efficiency,
versatility and value for nearly two decades. The fourth-generation RAV4
adds a new measure of style and in-vehicle technology to the mix while
staying true to its original formula."
7. 2014 JEEP Cherokee
"At long last, Jeep has engineered a compact SUV worthy of its famed
off-road repute. Distinct from its long-departed predecessors in
virtually every way, the all-new 2014 Cherokee delivers the best Jeep
has to offer in a rugged-yet-civilized package."
6. 2014 HYUNDAI Santa Fe Sport
"It's no secret the Santa Fe Sport is one of the most stylish SUVs on the
market, but leading-edge technologies like driver-selectable steering
and Hyundai's Blue Link telematics are what really make it stand out
from the crowd. That every Santa Fe Sport is backed by a
10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty doesn't hurt, either."
5. 2014 SUBARU Forester
"Dispelling any remaining ambiguity about its place in the universe, the
new-for-2014 Subaru Forester has officially entered the realm of
crossover SUVs. By doing so, the Forester offers all the utility of its
competitors while carrying forth its traditional hallmarks of safety,
durability, and the assurance of standard all-wheel drive."
4. 2014 FORD Escape
"The Ford Escape is a perfect example of why car buyers are flocking back
to the Blue Oval. For instance, the Escape's available Ecoboost engines
deliver exceptional power and some of the highest fuel economy figures
in the segment, while an aggressively handsome interior and exterior are
sure to win over your emotional side."
3. 2014 NISSAN Rogue
"Don't be fooled by its refreshing new sense of style, because the 2014
Nissan Rogue is actually one of the most practical choices on this list.
Case in point, the all-new Rogue returns best-in-class fuel economy on
the highway thanks to an enhanced CVT transmission, while a newly
available third-row seat ups the Rogue's people-hauling capacity to
seven."
2. 2014 MAZDA CX-5
"Stylish, affordable, fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive (of course), the
2014 Mazda CX-5 hits nearly all the right notes. Feeling more like a
5-passenger sports car than a compact sport utility vehicle, the CX-5
makes a stellar dynamic impression on the road."
1. 2014 HONDA CR-V
"Widely regarded as the most recommendable SUV by the KBB.com editors,
the Honda CR-V claims the top spot on our list two years running for
its matchless combination of value, reliability, and utility. As it has
for over 15 years, the CR-V builds upon its core philosophy of providing
practical-minded car shoppers worry-free transportation in a safe,
sensible package."
