For those who live in Europe they are probably aware of what a WRC
rally is. WRC stands for World Rally Championship. For us North
Americans this is something we are not used to racing on all types of
surfaces, tar, gravel, dirt, and snow. This is no Daytona 500, roads are
far from oval and are so complex they require co-drivers with maps to
direct the driver of the next turn coming up as well as it's angle.
Think of it as F1 or Indy with uneven surfaces, hills, streams and
bridges.

The
cars are 4 cylinders and are limited to 300hp max (now from a turbo
1.6L). All WRC cars are all wheel drive and have sequential gearboxes.
Cars typically reach 100kph in around 3 seconds on just about any type
of surface. Click below to read more on the cars.

How
I love the sound of these cars, pimp my ride has nothing on these cars.
During my stay in Finland in 1998 I was delighted to see the Neste
Rally of Finland. What an amazing experience, as a bonus it was raining
on that weekend which made it all that much more fun to watch.
